As we anticipate the release of Carrie’s third, yet-to-be-titled album on November 3rd, 2009, we’re starting to get small leaks of news on just what to expect from our favorite country songstress.
And now, we have some real news: CMT is reporting that R&B/pop songwriter Claude Kelly, who wrote “My Life Would Suck Without You” for Kelly Clarkson and “Circus” for Britney Spears, will be doing some work for Carrie on her upcoming album.
While we really like both songs, we hope that Carrie’s crossover appeal isn’t taken too far because while she has made moves on the pop charts, she’s done it with a new country sound. Clearly, Claude Kelly is accomplished, we just hope Carrie keeps her country sound, even while she is moving into doing work with new songwriters and potentially new genres (which she will).
Now that Timbaland wants to work with Taylor Swift, I guess having Carrie work with Claude Kelly isn’t too big of a stretch. Either way, we can’t wait for the new album and will keep you updated!
