On August 14, Carrie took the stage with Hank Williams Jr., John Rich, and Jake Owen at Fort Campbell in Kentucky/Tennessee for a “Salute to the Troops” concert.
Including soldiers, veterans, their families, and the general public, over 75,000 people attended the free concert. As we all know, this isn’t the first time that Carrie has performed for our armed forces. Carrie went to Iraq two years ago as well, but got to perform in the U.S. this time for the troops that I’m sure were very appreciative and excited for the concert.
Carrie said of the concert:
“I got to go to Iraq a couple years ago, and that was definitely an eye opening experience. It’s kind of like any opportunity that comes up that works with everything that I am doing — good thing to do.”
Even as Carrie prepares for her third album, great to see her still doing lots of good! It makes us proud to be such big fans of hers and others too.
